How I went from the Dark Side and Back again...
HOW I WENT FROM BLONDE TO “BLACK” AND BLONDE AGAIN..A hairdresser’s journey over 6 months…For those of you who are curious about how I went from light to the dark side to light again keep reading, those how could care less… keep scrolling.First let me say, those that know me, know. I am extreme, impulsive and when I make up my mind I make it up …. no middle of the road for me.I decided one day in Jan. to go dark… It took 2 people, 2 times that day to get me there… even driving home with color on my hair… and I loved it.Then I decided I wanted to be “myself” again.. blonde… not brown/blonde or ombre blonde or beachy blonde… “country western”… bleach blonde… myself blonde…This scares everyone around me. This can not and should not be done… to the “normal” person, “normal” client… But I am not the “normal” client. I am a hairdresser. I know what is about to happen.First I knew to strip my hair with CHEAP store-bought shampoo for TWO months. Lets pause and talk about this… I have been using a salon shampoo since I was 15. I “encourage” all my clients to buy salon products. Now knowing what store bought shampoo does to your hair… Professional Salon Products are a MUST!!! Stop doing this to your hair people, please! It literally stripped my hair 1-2 shades every time I washed it. Don't believe me, scroll through my photos for the last 3 months and look at my hair! It damaged it and took away the shine… I was mortified for my hair just from this process! Then came “Christmas” I called it… The day of Blonding…It literally took 2 people to put on the product to watch it with a bond builder ( so my hair won't ALL melt off) and another stylist on the wings to cut it. This took 6 hours! My hair did melt off in the bowl and seeing the look of horror and my friend's faces, I kept reassuring them, “its just me!… it's okay!!” My sweet sweet friend then cut off 6-8 inches and to this moment my hair needs to be dried with a hairdryer because it holds on to water for DAYS!!I need a protein conditioner, moisture conditioner, 2 special shampoos, thermal protection, frizz control, after style oil just to name a few … =expensive!!But IM BACK!Sooooo. moral of the story is… nooooo… hair cannot go dark to light in one visit…. unless you're a hairdresser : )PS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all who were involved in the making of this story… I LOVE my friends
