Set up and Tear down sounds daunting ... Not for Pacheco's Weddings and Events!

I'm not quite sure when I was formally introduced to Matthew Pacheco and his crew, being in the wedding biz, I followed him on social media for sometime and felt like we knew each other already. Seeing him around in person or on the inter webs is exactly the same feel.  He is soooo personable, supportive, kind and VERY responsive.  My mind gets boggled thinking of what he does on a daily basis and makes it look extraordinary, effortless and organized.  He and his group set up for any special event taking this task  off your plate.. and then... he polishes up the night by tearing it all down,  so anyone and everyone can have a stress free day from all  these chores. Let your loved ones relax and mingle all day long... enjoying themselves without slaving away.  Matthew's GOT IT... no worries!  Here is more on this fantastic vendor and his crew...Business Name/ Owners name:Pacheco's Weddings and Events/ Matthew PachecoHow long have you been in the business:5 Years

What made you want to do what you do? (What is your “why”)

I started out as a car detailing company, but quickly lost hope due to the amount of other car detailing companies in Washington. I really contemplated if I should still do this because I wasn't really passionate about detailing cars. A little after that moment, a friend from church asked if I could cleanup after her friend's wedding and I obliged. I had fun because I got to work with fun people, be active, and had an adventure (unexpected twists and turns that typically happen at a wedding).

When I arrived back home that night, I Googled if there was a "wedding cleanup" company, but couldn't find any. That's' when it all started and found my niche.

I have enjoyed the journey. I never thought it would become what it is today. Pacheco's exists to give the couple the best experience and to remove the stress of setup/tear down off their shoulders.

Where do you see yourself in Five years?

Sponsored by Nike (untapped market), my company to run on it's own (without me), a millionaire who would host events for brides and the Seattle Wedding Community, and to have Pacheco's as an established all-inclusive company.

Tell me a story that sticks out in your mind that you encountered on the job ( can be funny, heart felt, mind blowing… whatever comes to mind)

My team and I setup cafe lighting for a huge event in Seattle which required a lift. I had to quickly get over the fear of heights lol. I quickly became acclimated, and everything was well. We had strung so many lights together and I felt like "the man". The instructions said that we could only string '8 lights together at a time'. We had connected 7 lights together, and all the lights went off. I thought it might've just been a fuse. We replaced the fuse, and everything turned back on. A few minutes passed, and it blew again. At this point, I started to lose some mental control. I thought to myself, "I did not come all the way out here to be put ashamed". I started to talk to God and everything haha. I called a few people for advice (with only 30 minutes till the start of the ceremony).

Luckily, the lights were for the reception side ONLY and the ceremony decor had already been setup.

One of my team members had a brilliant idea which required us to not use one set of the lights (which made 6 strands only). We only had about 15 minutes after the ceremony to execute this! As soon as it was over, we executed and all the lights turned back on! WOW. I was hard on myself after, but realized it was because another vendor plugged their lights in the wall which took away from the wattage on our part. In the end, it all worked out! I was thankful. Everyone had a great time!

If you didnʼt do this, what would you do instead and why?

I can't think of an alternative. The employee life isn't for me.

What do you recommended for a smooth interaction with your business?

A timeline, and as much specifics as possible.

Do you have a mentor or inspiration?

Yes, my pastor Tracey Armstrong and I have a few others who help me with things such as marketing, communication, sales, and managerial/leadership responsibilities.

What is your favorite quote?

"If you're limited, get creative."

What makes your business stand out from others?

We are the only company that helps with wedding cleanup. We exceed expectations, have fun, and work fast.
