Let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas!
Only 6 more months to go… xo
Just kidding… kind of…
Before the countdown to my favorite holiday let us enjoy summer 2024…
” Because it’s summer and the memories are just waiting to happen”
I am excited to sloooow it down a bit and relish the happy days ahead.
We have been on the move since April.
Every week had a big event to be shared and celebrated.
On top of celebrating our one year anniversary, my sweetie’s birthday in Vegas and Gig Harbor, a bulldog rescue ball/fundraiser… we also traveled to Charleston and Ridgefield Wa for work and family reunion!
I fell in love with Charleston.
My husband ventured out there for work.
I’m proud to brag that he developed the software for a new plane “The Dreamlifter”. A project that took well over 2+ years to complete.
While out there he met with the FAA after
working over 36 hours in 2 days to finalize everything… It was a success.
I then flew out to celebrate by discovering most of Charleston.
The history is compelling. Powerful to say the least. We found ourselves looking over our shoulders quite often, spooked by the ghosts that still roam these streets and plantations.
The beaches were vast and playful. Local families mingled with tourists who lined the coastline for miles. We enjoyed Isle of Palms for a day but felt at home in Folly Beach, a more artsy, young vibe.
We stayed at the Marina in Charleston. We love looking at all the “Money”. Little did I know I was taking photos of JK Rowlings “boat”…
The sunsets were fantastic and random firework shows were a pleasant surprise as well.
Last weekend we ventured to the southern part of Washington to Ridgefield/Vancouver.
The Boynton’s (my dad’s side of the family) had a small reunion.
My brother and I were able to reunite with a cousin we hadn’t seen in 40 years. It was great to see her and meet her husband.
I was also able to meet the newest addition to the Boynton Tribe. Lil Kinsley Rose. My nephew and his wife Allie brought the sweetest lil thing into the world in late May.. I’m not a huge baby admirer ( I know weird for a woman..) but this baby girl already has me wrapped around her finger!
Me, my hubby and Eloise stayed on the largest functioning farm in Western Washington. Our Air BnB was way better than expected. We walked Ellie for miles on the Lewis River with the trail ending at Lake Roseannah, a secluded lake with acres of wildflowers. I did the impossible… I tired out our little girl. Eloise ran among the cattle, leaped in the tall grasses and dipped her feet in the cold water during the hottest parts of the day… I believe she thinks she’s a herding dog, not a petite Frenchie!
June 14th and June 15th are always difficult days for me. This year my sweet girl Amira would have been 25. Luke my son would have been 24.
It seems like yesterday but also so long ago.
I used to hide away, quietly and grieve over these memories for fear of making other people uncomfortable in my pain.
But as I have gotten older and time has moved on I realize a few things: I will NEVER get over the pain of losing my daughter and son. Talking about it may help others who may have gone through somewhat of the same thing/s….
It also helps those who don’t know what to say to know it’s okay… not knowing what to say is legit.
So for all those who are quietly suffering in their pain, please know it is okay to grieve … anyway that is “right” for you…
One last thing on this… I have Faith I will see them again and this … this is what gives me strength.
Soooooo… I am finally getting back into a routine of daily life here in West Seattle (and Tacoma) and it feels good to dive head-first into home projects, linger around my yard and garden, and take long walks and runs through my neighborhood.
I won’t be taking any more time off work until the first of September. I will then be heading to California for my birthday trip.
Please book online soon. My books are continuing to fill up fast. If you need me to do a house call and live in my West Sea bubble, I am still offering this… please reach out!
I also have been craving writing!
I will be putting together a routine blog about beauty and travel so keep an eager eye out for this!
